Decision making is an important part of our lives and teens are faces with so many issues that force them to make decisions which may not always be a smart decision. I'm a teen myself and i can tell you that most of the time I tend to lean on my parents for the difficult things, but learning to make choices ourselve and do it well is an important skill especially as we head towards adulthood but we really need our parents to support us and that's where parents may stuggled.
I am a teen intern for a parenting blog www.radicalparenting.com which portrays points from our perspective, we tackle things from a very different angle and touch upon senstive areas where only teens can give you the answer or alteast a good idea.
I think you may find this article interesting as it relates to your blog but as more of a step-by-step guide, called '10 Ways to Teach Smart Decision-Making' written by an intern. http://www.radicalparenting.com/2009/09/10/teaching-teens-to-make-good-decisions/
I hope you find it both helpful and useful.
kind regards.
