“Cotton Candy Friends”

Parents of teens sometimes express concern about your teens’ seemingly shallow relationships as you witness them “text” and “IM” rather than get together in face-to-face connection. My colleague and friend Vanessa Van Petten comments that the superficial connections fostered in this Facebook-Twitter obsessed world leave her and her peers hungry for more.
