I've been reading through older and excellent blog entries about teen drinking--because it is a huge issue with my daughter's crowd. I think it's helpful to discuss rules/attitudes among parents-it helps us understand even better the peer pressure our kids are experiencing. As "good" as any teen intends to be, it is hard when they are in a crowd of friends who do not have or uphold the same rules. For example, I've recently learned that quite a few of my daughter's friends' parents have told them it's okay to have a beer or a little drink. Perhaps one or two of these teens are sticking to that little bit, but I am still against condoning any use of alcohol. I think it's good for my daughter to feel guilty if/when she takes a drink. Besides, we all know that a little bit easily leads to more. I have given my daughter tips on what to do just in case... she knows I'll always come "resuce" her no matter what she's done and I've told her that if she breaks our rules, she should at least make sure she has food in her stomach, doesn't take any open drink, etc. With this, I remind her that our rule is "No alcohol."
So, my question is--what do the "experienced" moms think--should we condone any drinking?

One of the most frank articles on Alcohol that I've seen !
Well done, well done indeed !!!
Our society is using Alcohol as a stress reliever, as many of us have, only problem, is that it appears many are completely unaware of its capablities to endanger ones health !!
I'll send you our story for your info.
Many thanks for your good work !
